It's useful to know that this kind of stuff is out there to add to Chrome. This is very handy.

I think that Chrome is good. I do believe that it can and will get much better in the near future though. I like the look; nice and clean, but man does it freeze up on my notebook! I can't seem to figure it out. I'm not really even using that many tabs or anything. Firefox can handle much more.

Anyways, you better believe that this browser will grow. This is Googles "operating system," so they will take some pride in it.

Awesome post and I'll be back to read some more!

Thanks Sid for making such wonderful post and some kind words. I never though it will take this good shape :D.

Thanks Ricardo, may be that is what we missed :P . It is nice to see that I wont have to switch to Firefox now to check if that page has RSS feeds or not.

Great Buddy, Let Chrome Rock on
  • film fan · 1 year ago
there are so many advantages and features with Chrome, such as it's speed, for example; now if only they would take care it's flighty cookie management...
  • hubdirectory · 1 year ago
I like Chrome quite a bit, but just thought I’d point out that Opera was the first to have the drag tabs out and back in feature.
  • Eric · 1 year ago
This is awesome! I started a post about this too and during the course of my research found this most excellent collection.

Unfortunately, these add-ons aren't quite as nicely integrated as Firefox add-ons. But hopefully that'll come...
  • design · 1 year ago
Great stuff here, making Chrome, Opera, and Safari all a lot easier to use, without space-hogging toolbars Also, see Share This website for another add-on.

These seem mostly useless as I would have to come to this site to use them. It would be best if they were actual plugins. I still posted a link
  • Buytiffany · 1 year ago
this makes me to stick with chrome ...Very nice

I am sure google will do some thing and they will provide more features ..
  • ricardo valle · 1 year ago
You can also use Firebug lite with Google Chrome..

  • saurabh · 1 year ago
Chrome is good but they have not done anything significantly innovative in the field of web browsing just borrowed good features of opera, mozilla and safari (not to mention IE) and came out with CHROME! i had expected much more new and cool features from google geeks. Any ways chrome is cool and i love to use it!! ;)
  • christiandominic · 1 year ago
Just happened on this site by accident when googling chrome add-ons; but "I'll be back" as some Austrian once said.

I haven't tried the bookmarklets out yet, but it seems to me that this is how it should be - put the bare bones of a product out and let the users decide on development priorities and provide solutions, even if they are quick and dirty - in thirty years in this business I've seen plenty of "quick and dirty" fixes become respectable features and add- ons as time passes. Viva la Revolution!!
  • freelancer · 1 year ago
Chrome without addons is worthless if a user is webmasters.
  • John L · 1 year ago
I think its great that people can make these but there is no way I will have Chrome back on my computer. Never have I had a bit of software that felt so out of my control before. I felt it was just one big lump of spyware and will not go back to it despite its speed.
  • mik · 1 year ago
gmail this chromelet does not work....what is preventing this from working... is there a fix?
  • Nike Dunks · 1 year ago

Google toolbar was not available for chrome browser, the toolbar has a smart pagerank system, drag this bookmarklet and click on it whenever you want to check the pagerank of any website or blog.
  • confusedConnor · 1 year ago
Ok I put the bookmarklets on the bar, and it looks just like in the picture (where it says "Chrome is (almost) complete now")
What is the next step?? Take google toolbar for example. In order to search I have to click on the 'google search' bookmark, and a searchbox pops up for me to type the search.

In firefox, using the true google toolbar, you can just type the search in the box..
  • mr.eims @ prospects · 1 year ago
    nice..
I guess I'll try to like google chrome again..
before, I start to use other browser other than chrome because of its emptyness..but now, seems like its become better and better..
  • fugudude · 1 year ago
i love how i got the adblock thing, used it, and the country kitchen ad didn't go away... or does this one actually work when you GO TO a page?
  • samela · 1 year ago
add a google bookmark of the current page (like gmarks)

    javascript:(function(){var a=window,b=document,c=encodeURIComponent,d=a.open("http://www.google.com/bookmarks/mark?op=edit&output=popup&bkmk="+c(b.location)+"&title="+c(b.title),"bkmk_popup","left="+((a.screenX||a.screenLeft)+10)+",top="+((a.screenY||a.screenTop)+10)+",height=420px,width=550px,resizable=1,alwaysRaised=1");a.setTimeout(function(){d.focus()},300)})();

  • maniexx · 1 year ago
well, it doesn't work as well as in FF for me. the adblock is much better in ff for example. I think i'll wait for True addons from Google

I like chrome but I hate not having a firefox plugin that I love. It's called reminderfox. It's pretty much the reason I still use firefox.
  • DDt · 10 months ago
i havent added this yet but it looks nice && i think i will
  • mahvin · 10 months ago
If you add folders to your Bookmarks Bar and give the folders unique names that identify the type of bookmarks, (I made several folders named My Email Accts, My Web Apps, Most Popular Blogs, etc, and added all the appropriate bookmarks to each folder, they show on the top bar (you can move the folders in the order you want them to show) and act just like a drop down bar, which works like a charm for me! Just thought I would share that. I also have a folder named Add Ons, which most of these are included, and viola, instant access and still lots of room on the bar left to use.
  • mahvin · 10 months ago
An addendum to my last comment: export your foxmark bookmarks to a local html file and then import them into google chrome, this is the best method until Foxmarks develops the new add on for Chrome.
  • Sascha · 9 months ago
Hm, this is still a far cry from "AdBlock Plus" on Firefox. Pitty :-(
In fact, the lack of a proper Ad-blocking solution is the onlz thing that still keeps me from using Chrome as my preferred browser.
(it could even show text-ads, if that would make Google happier ;-)
  • Géza · 8 months ago
Is there a way perhaps to make the Adblock+ script run automatically when a page loads? That would make it much-much better, almost entirely acceptable for me.
  • zain · 8 months ago
How do I use the video downloader? I go to a youtube page and I click the bookmark... nothing happens. All the other ones work... Please help.
  • WAZZUPWEB · 7 months ago

aaagh i just used it on facebook and instead of blocking the ads (still there) it blocked my scrabble game!

help, how do i turn it off????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • AdmiralMemo · 2 months ago
Awesome stuff. I plan to use some of these. :-)
  • Paul · 1 month ago
Sorry, the adblock extension sux, it doesn't block ads on facebook, and it disables THIS comment textbox. If I have to click a bookmark every time I want to block the ads, I'm going back to firefox (you can even block ads in IE7 & 8 without having to click a bookmark)
  • Santi · 1 month ago
I'll come back to Internet Explorer because I can't use Google toolbar... Can you believe it? for god sake, I want to keep using the hover translation feature !!!!!!
  • alexdong · 1 week ago
I found the Purifyr bookmarklet from Purifyr.com is truly fantastic. It literally makes reading on web enjoyable again. It takes any web page and turn it into a crisp, clean, printer-friendly page.

It's much better than adblock since it won't leave any empty spaces on the web page.
  • Krystian · 6 days ago
I heard ages ago that Google Chrome was supposed to support Firefox's plugins somehow.
I guess it was just a rumour now reading your post.

Such a shame, I believe that Firefox's popularity came into many groups of people by plugins such as firebug.
I, as a web designer, can't really use anything else than firefox because of the many plugins they have that I use every day, just wish there was a solution.
