Blogote - Internet Technology blog: Google chrome Trick – Changing the default search engine

  • John · 1 year ago
Just for the record, it's not really a "trick" if it's something they put in there and intended you to use, makes it sound too much like you're trying to bypass the evil google browser when you put it like that. But otherwise I'm sure this will help some people who can't figure out how to do it.

the way i fixed it was to delete all engines. then i ran a search with google.us, opened the manage thing again and google.us was automatically added as an option, once i highlighted it the default button was now an option. I think it was just because the url is supposed to be this: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=%s&...

I have that but it is wrongly redirecting to google.ch (because i'm in switzerland right now) this is very annoying!

@googa - Type google.com/ncr in your address bar and it will redirect to the .com version of Google instead of national Google domain name...

Hope this helps ;) It worked for me...
